Located on Jupiter Island, the Blowing Rocks Garden overlooks the southern outcropping of the Blowing Rocks Preserve. We fashioned monolithic stone walls and graded the terrain to create a raised garden terrace that overlooks the dune and Atlantic Ocean. The garden terrace is planted with native dune grasses and wildflowers that provide seasonal color and interest. We also moved large existing trees and palms throughout the property to provide visual balance and complement the Tropical Modern Architecture. The garden lawn and native coral rock hardscape connects each outdoor area and provides modern structure to the garden geometry. Featured within the front landscape is the notable ‘Axe Man’ sculpture by. Unique to this garden are the numerous Lignum Vitae trees planted throughout the property. Native to South Florida, the Lignum Vitae tree is now rarely tree found in the wild. Prized for its extremely hard and durable wood, the tree was nearly eradicated. Today, the Blowing Rocks Garden is a kind habitat for these Lignum Vitae trees and their delicate violet flowers.
