The Oil Palm Garden is situated on an intracoastal canal in Palm Beach Gardens. Existing landscape plantings obscured waterway views and overpowered the home. Garden construction began by editing the landscape of plants and trees that blocked water views and key architectural features. Nine rare Oil Palms were then planted within the garden to provide a stately mood to the landscape and complement the monumental style of the home. The garden’s lawn meanders through the landscape connecting living spaces with the pool, garden rooms, and water’s edge. Situated within one of the garden rooms is a simple water feature that pays homage to the homeowner’s appreciation of Japanese culture. Bamboo, bonsai Ficus microcarpa trees, and artfully placed boulders enrich this distinct garden space.
